Seal for 55 Hudson Power Steering Cylinder
-
I am looking for a source for the seal that goes around the output shaft of the power steering cylinder for a 55 Hudson Hornet. The seal is called a "T" seal and it has fiber support rings that go in each side of it to support the "T". The "T" seal fits in a groove that is 1" in Dia. and 3/16" Deep. I found a source of this seal from Parker Hannifan. It is part # 4115-B001-TR010. The trouble is so far I havent found any source that has this seal available. I did find out that Parker Hannifan only sells them in lots of 25 minimum at about $6 ea. Thanks for any help or advice. Rob

Rob,
I am not familiar with the 55, but have recent experience with a 54.. Similar? I had my cylinder and valve rebuilt by www.larescorp.com . They were not cheap, but actually remanufactured mine with a new piston. Perhaps they can be of help obtaining the part you need. it wouldn't hurt to give them a try. Check the web site and send them an email.
Good Luck, Dave
