Search problem
-
Scott indicated earlier that 'seaches' here did not work too well, and suggested that we use Google.
I usually type-in 'classiccar.com' (in quotes) in the search window, followed by the search parameters of what I am looking for - and get fairly decent results that way... -
Specifically - What are you trying to search for?
-
Don't think you understand... You need to go to www.google.com, and within that search window, follow my directions for your search.
However - If you are looking for YOUR discussions and YOUR posts -
- Click the 'Discussions' button at the top of this forum;
- When you see the listing of all the threads, look just below all the buttons (Dashboard, Discussions, Activity, Inbox, Lee ODell, Mark All Viewed, etc..);
- You will see 'My Bookmarks ##', 'My Discussions ###' and 'Participated Discussions####';
Those will be your bookmarks, your discussions, and any discussions that you participated in. You can go thru those, and most likely find what you're looking for...
-
Worst issue with this site is the search function, virtually non-existent.
-
As mentioned before, for now, use Google, and this search string:
site:classiccar.com 'search term/s'
For example:
site:classiccar.com hudsonite -
This will be resolved as the other glitches have been fixed eventually and I learn the new layout.
Reminds me of a frustrating 45 minutes experience I had at the public library trying to locate a certain book using their computer cataloging system. I gave up and went to the card catalog and had the book in hand in less than 5 min.
It is great haveing people help with the learning curve.
Stuff happens.
Have a good day.

I still use the card catalog in the Library - if I can find it... LOL!
