Can someone please help me with information on a 1929 7 passenger Phaeton? My neighbor who has a rather large car collection has one of these that is fully restored and I am trying to help him find some information. We both know it is a very rare model but that is about it. Any help would be appreciated. In exchange, I will be happy to post some pictures of the beautiful car. Thanks,Jason

Jason - Hudson sold a 7 pass. phaeton on the long wheelbase, 139", bodied by Briggs (there will be a "BRIGGS" body plate on the lower right side of the cowl).
These are quite rare, only a few known to exist.
    LOVE TO SEE THE PHOTOS!!!!!!

I can recall looking at one in Utah perhaps three decades ago. Unrestored and part of a 2 or 3 dozen car collection. Only one I ever saw "in the steel". Very cramped in the corner of the storage building.

Still - hmmm, wonder if that is the one Carl Weber sold to a guy who was a sometime Hudson collector in SLC? He never belonged to HET that I was aware of.
I believe that is the only one I've ever heard of. Being Briggs bodied not acceptable as a "classic" Hudson by CCCA like the dual cowl phaeton, bodied by Biddle & Smart.

speaking of which they made a 5 pass. phaeton on the std. w.b. & don't believe I've ever seen one of those.

this guy I met in SLC at the time, like 30 yrs. ago, had a '29 H dual cowl ph. & a very nice long w.b. 5 pass. phaeton made by B & S which had to have been a custom order. He was determined to convert the latter into another DC ph. - I tried to talk him out of it telling him it was the only one in existance but think he saw big bucks by creating another DC ph.
He had a truck line & went broke, lost all of his Hudsons which inc. a '13 6-54 & a '13 model 37.
He later got his "act together" & bought from me a '13 model '37 as he was in the process of buying back what he once had (think he'd already gotten a 6-54).
I think Brownie knows of whom I speak but I have no idea of his fate as of now.
(All of this jogs one's memory!!!)

There is a 29 Hudson dual cowl long wheelbase Ph. in SLC. Current owner Glen Cox is in the process of a meticulous original restoration. Glen is very knowledgeable of the 29 Hudson.
