1946/47 Hudson Commodore Clutch Help
-
I have a couple of Commodore 6s in the UK. I'm coming to the end of a restoration with the '47 Coupe and am having problems with the clutch. I'm getting the plate re-corked, but don't know what thickness the cork needs to be. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Geoff -

Geoff, are you going to have your clutch re-corked by either Mr. Charles Cantrill, or Mr. Paul Beck, in England. I understand that they do the cork clutches for the MG TA's. This doesn't answer your question as to thickness, of course. Here's an interesting discussion on the MG cork clutches, which mentions Ron Fellows (who does this work in the US): http://www.billdavis.org/MGTA/Cork.html . (Doctor Doug is Doug Wildrick, who has been rebuilding Hudson clutches here, across the pond, for many years.) -
Hello, the disc should be from .210 to .230 . What is the problem your having?. They also call discard .160. The pressure plate also has to be set up properly and if it's not,can chatter, slip,or just not work with any longevity.

Thanks everyone for their help. I've managed to get the plate recovered locally and should work a treat,
