Johnny Carson Park car show
-
Today at noon I received a phone call from David David and he told me he was at a car show at Johnny Carson Park with about 400 cars and only one Hudson. I told him I would be right over. I am having problems with my Hornets charging system but since I had just charged the battery and the park is only a couple miles away I took it over there and met up with Dean and his wife Marci in their beautiful 46 Hudson stretched cab PU. Both Hudsons got alot of attention. Sorry no pictures. Dean and I both forgot our cameras. We had a good time visiting and walking around to see the great looking cars and trucks. There were a couple extrodinarily restored classic fire engines in attendance. At one end of the park you could hear the noise and smell the aroma of nito burning from half a dozen 1950's & 60's top fuel dragsters firing up those big supercharged hemi engines brought back alot of memories of top fulers battling it out for top honors at the drag strips at San Fernando, Lions, Fontana, Irwindale, Bakersfield and Pomona.
Thanks Dean for calling me.
