C & P Hudson Co, Burbank license plate frame
-
I saw this license plate frame at the Western Regional Meet. Unfortunately for me it was not for sale. C & P Hudson Co in Burbank, Ca is where my father bought his new 1951 Hudson Hornet with Twin-H.
I took this picture in hopes of having a copy made. Does anyone have a suggestion where I might have a duplicate made using this picture to go by? It would be nice to put one on my Hornet's license plate to honor my father. In my eyes, a great man.

There used to be a number of companies across the western states who cast pot metal license frames as advertising for the car dealers, for organizations, for Pep Boys sales etc. Some of these probably still exist despite the fact that frame use by dealers has mostly given way to plastic or to glued scripts for trunk lids. I contacted one such company in Riverside, CA years ago but don't recall the name. Another thought would be to have any foundry do them in aluminum which would be inexpensive and could be polished, or in red brass which would chrome and be outstanding. But you need an original to work from and keep in mind there will be shrinkage in the size of the recast part depending on material used.
If you do find a company (internet search???) please post it here.
