Does anyone know if there is a build sheet attached some were on the "57" 300c. Some cheeky sh** stole my ID tag from the radiator support panel. Next time someone shows interest in your resto project watch them like a hawk***** i had a person who knew i had the vehicle ask if he could have a look at it as he was building a clone 300c, i happily obliged thinking i was doing him a huge favor...well what do you know the next time i looked under the hood i saw the id plate had been removed.
any idea if the vehicle can be decoded from the door pillar id tag. I would liek to not only know about my vehicle i would like to try and replace the id tag stole..
I am also still looking for a hood, no luck yet.

Only one factory "build sheet" has ever been found on a 300C to my knowledge and it was masking taped to the crossmember above the rear axle between the upper shock mounts. This is actually an IBM card taped there. And that was on a factory stick shift race car that was just over 20K miles. In other words I don't think you will find one on the car. In '57 they were not under the seats or under the carpet or taped on top of the glove box. But if you find one in ANY of those places, post your findings here!
Chrysler Historical can give you all your build info based on your VIN and proof that this car belongs to you and a reasonable fee they charge.
The VIN tag on the driver's door hinge pillar is only the model of the car followed by the production sequence number. It has nothing to do with how the car was built. The motor number and frame number do not match the VIN on this year and model. However motor and frame numbers match each other.
AG Backeast can reproduce your stolen data tag once you provide them with adequate documentation.
There has been a 300C Handbook of over 60 pages available for more than 15 years. I wrote it and I believe it would be beneficial for you to own a copy.

Thank you for the compliment on the 300C Handbook. And congratulations on scoring a hood!.
