Carburetor re- jetting
-
I'm hoping someone mite read this and can help wiith some information to re- jet the carburetor on a straight six chevy mono jet carb.
The motor runs good but has a idea miss that I believ is caused by being to lean. I pulled the plugs and there running white in color.
My question Can these mono jet carbs can the jetting be change to richen the fuel mixture. -
I would think that depends on what model Mono Jet you have. Some use a metering jet and some have a metering jet and a metering rod.
You could just drill a jet a little larger to richen it up. But if it has the rod also then you may need to change the rod and/or jet at the same time.
The plugs may just be white due to being too hot a heat range. Are you sure the miss is not somthing else like a valve issue maybe?
Something a long time engine builder showed me was he held his hand by the exhaust and if you hear a piff, piff, piff kind of noise then you have a burnt valves.
