A pet peeve- guys trying to sell stuff by means that many of us can't (won't) access. Was interested in a boat on Craigslist, seller said "reply by text message only." I had my daughter in law text him "Am replying for my father in law. He says, Pity you require reply by text. That boat is an old man's fishing boat, and old men don't text. Maybe we could have done business. . ."

Initially, when she inquired about posting a vehicle for sale, I gave her the go-ahead, and told her that she should also post here - didn't see it, so I post a link on the Forum. I am not a 'friend' in Facebook, so I can't see her details or email address...Mike (WA) wrote:A pet peeve- guys trying to sell stuff by means that many of us can't (won't) access. I'll ask again, to see if I can get contact information... -
Contact info on the 1929 Essex Coupe that's for sale -
Thank you so much for the post. Here is some of the info and some pictures. My father bought the car in 1955 ( We think) he has owned it since than. It does not run. It has been in storage for many year and he realized that he is never going to be able to restore it. The body is in fair shape but does have rust along the running boards. Everything with the car is original. We are open to any reasonable offers on it.
My contact info is

Thank you again,

Area code comes back to SW Michigan. A little far afield for me, but it looks pretty straight. I'll bet someone could get a sweet deal on it, for 2 reasons: when someone finally decides to get rid of something thats been in the garage for 57 years, they want it gone fast; and if he bought it in 1955, he probably only paid a hundred bucks or so, so anything you offer is going to be well above what he's got in it.

I bought mine in 1959 for 60.00 dollars. I was in high school and that was my total savings at that time. I then rebuilt the mechanics in high school autoshop. Joined the Navy then returned married, kids, etc, etc.. and so on. Did a garage paint job and had my son help. He was three. It is still running tho I need to put another engine in now as it is getting real tired. Yes, I still have my 1929 RS Coupe. And no it is not for sale. Told the misses when we married that the car was never to be sold and must be handed down to family only. Still look at her every day. That includes my wife too. Married for 45 years. Had Essex for 55 years.

Got word from Gloria - The car is still for sale. The buyer backed-out, citing a higher than expected tax bill (?)...46HudsonPU wrote:46HudsonPU wrote:Contact info on the 1929 Essex Coupe that's for sale -
