Jethroe (46 Hudson pickup) with 50 262 engine needs a piston(.060 oversize) and a complete set of .060 oversize rings. Whoever bored it out didn't have the rings lined up (over the pins) and caused havoc. Dale Cooper is searching but i'm posting this for backup.
    Thanks, Fred

Packard Industries is a big wholesale outfit in Boonton, NJ. My 2011 catalog says limited stock on 262 pistons and no pinned rings. Again wholesale only, but if your striking out elsewhere maybe worth a shot. 880-768-3646 but I'm guessing the vendors you've checked with have already covered this...

Please consider EGGE as your last resort. This is from my personal experience. PM me if you need to know!

OOPS! Thanks to Hedley Bennett, I pulled pistons marked .060 on top and measured them. Pistons are standard 3 9/16. Hedley is shipping one and also Std. rings. Thank you for all the leads. Jehtroe will rule Northeast Ohio again. I really appreciate all the replies on this forum. It is a most fantastic resorce.

You mean they were actualy stamped wrong and Headley had run across this before?

I think what Hedley found was that the pistons were made (and stamped) ovesize and then at a later date machined to fit a particular need. That was what I got out of the jist of our conversation. Brilliant, just like a pint of Guiness!

That means in the past a good machine shop stocked the biggest size then cut them down as needed. Handy way to gey the fit you want ,

I couldn't agree more. Lester had NOS Pistons, rings & gudgeon pins for my 29 Essex engine!! Not only did he have them but he mailed them all the way to New Zealand without waiting for my son's check to arrive. I can't speak highly enough of the service & Lester's very reasonable prices. He is also most knowledgeable about the obsolete parts he sells.
