Does anyone know the story behind the display car? Where was the photo taken?
Was it scrapped or saved and if saved, who has it hidden away in their barn? Of note, it appears to have the '54-style full disc wheel covers which were first optional from dealers in '51 as I recall but virtually never ordered what with the availability of wire wheel covers or real wire wheels.
Heckuva parts car and maybe that was its fate.

I have seen a cut-away engine (1953 I think) down in Florida that belongs to one of our members. I have seen the potos of the car but never heard anything about where it was or who owned it.

WOW!!! The cut-away engine is probably the "numbers matching" correct piece needed to complete the car shown. Obviously the complete engine is an incorrect replacement for the cut-away car, right? Well it makes sense to me......

Just right for me - I'm 74!!!! She might still be able to put a spring in my step and a sparkle in my eye.

But she's probably married, with 6 kids, 10 grandkids and 4 or 5 great-grandkids. Oh, well.

Story of my life - a day behinc and $50 short (inflation, you know!!)

The models names are Janet Brett and Shirley Buchanen. In case anyone is still interested.

LOL if still alive might make good guest speakers at an HET meet. Old guys might have to bring along their Pacemakers though. You know which ones.
