generator condenser
-
i finally found the part number and ordered the voltage regulator for my generator. i see it has this condenser on the outside, i thought i should try to replace it if it's not too high. does anyone know what part to get to replace it???
i don't know if the gen works or not but turns free and smooth and i oiled up the front and rear bearings. thanks for any info, stacy100_2545.JPG800 x 600 - 36K -
the condensor shown is for supression of static on your radio.not required for generator operation. do to age of it likely not any good anway.

thank you. i will worry about the static after i get a radio!

That condenser is for reduction of generator interference in the radio. Don't worry about it 'till you have your radio in and operating. Generator interference is a loud 'scream' louder with increased engine speede. It usually sounds like a siren coming thru the radio speaker. If you need one, get a hold of me, I'm listed in the WTN as radio advisor. Steve.

If you want to replace yours, here are some part numbers. The difference between these part numbers is in the connector. I am not sure if the NAPA Echlin RC1 is a Radio Suppression Condenser. NAPA calls it a Distributor Condenser.

NAPA Echlin RC2
NAPA Echlin RR186
