Question on rear differential
-
On the rear differential of my 54 Hornet Special there is a metal tag that reads
43
-- What does this tell me if anything about the gear ratio?
14.
Thanks,
Doug -
Hi Doug
The tag tells you the number of teeth on the ring and pinion gears.
Number 43 is the number of teeth on the ring gear.
Number 14 is the number of teeth on the pinion.
Divide 14 into 43 and you will have your gear ratio.
Hope this helps.
