steering column bearing
-
so i pulled my steering box because the worm was worn really bad and when installing my new box i noticed there wasnt a bearing in my tube. in the manual it shows the order being the spacer, the bearing, the spring, and the wheel. well im assuming the spacer is the cone looking thing and the spring is self explanatory.
does anybody have a part number or dimensions on a steering column bearing? Needle or ball? i work at napa so if all else fails i can go try and match it by size.
any help appreciated, thanks

There is a bearing ass'y in the tube that is pressed down till it meets a notch pressed into the side of the tube, part number BZ 165642. Then there is a V sleeve that goes into it and the spring make it ride on the bearings, part number BZ 165647. Jets are different. This is what keeps the steering wheel from moving side ways. Walt.

thank you walt. doesnt look like i can cross those numbers in my napa system. do you have the dimensions?

Those are numbers right out of the 53 parts manual. No dimensions are giving. Walt.
