Original Truck Fenders and Hood ???
-
I have looked at a lot of hudson truck and haven't seen any fenders that look like this at the bottom of the fender rear near the running board. I'm thinking they are maybe off of another vehicle. And in the hood emblem area there seems to be two additional holes about an inch apart for another emblem directly under super six, does anyone know what is supposed to go there or is the hood from another vehicle as well.
I live in Va. and purchased this truck site unseen (other than the photos) from www.desertgardenscars.com and boy did they pull a fast one. They said the truck had New paint, redone chrome, and ran great. None of those were true. Paint is at least 10 years old, the chrome is pitted everywhere (they only polished it) and fuel pump was gushing when the delivery driver unloaded the truck. I have since fixed the fuel pump, and adjusted the timing which was about an inch off, and went to drive it and only made it to 30mph. Carb seems to be loading up, but after carb fix I think its going to run much better. I do have to say that it is a tough old truck, still glad I got it and only one person has figured out what it is without me telling them. Sorry for rambling, just had to vent about desertgardens - considering court action. Honesty is the best policy - some people just don't get it.

It appears you have a Commodore front clip. PU's did not have any emblems on the hood. And they did not come with all the extra trim your truck has. The extra trim and fender lights are often added to the PU for personal reasons. PU fenders are hard to come by so that may be the reason for the car fenders and hood. It is still a good looking truck.
You will get more information posting this on the Hudson forum.
Have a good day.

The Commodore hood have 3 rows of holes for emblems:
HUDSON
COMMODORE
EIGHT or SUPER SIX
The Super Six hood have 2 rows of holes for emblems:
HUDSON
SUPER SIX
The Pickup hood has rivets filling the two rows of holes holes. No emblems.
The indentation at rear of front fender is there to clear the lower cowl flare used on cars. Pickup fenders do not have flares and no indentation on rear of fender.
I'm inclined to believe the front fenders and hood came from a Commodore because of the three rows of emblem holes, commmodore hood and fender trim. Even the door continues the Commodore trim line.
It is still a good looking truck. I wish my truck looked half as good as yours.
Happy trucking.

I agree with Lee, all of what he said.

Thanks I see exactly what you mean about the fenders. Well I guess I will make do with what I have.
Thanks again
