Just looked at the results for the Auction and thought the prices were very good for owners of Hudson's. I watched for a while Prime Time on Friday evening and was thinking that I did not make very good money in my chosen career field? Do not think I will be buying a Tucker anytime soon. Or for that matter a Camaro.

The higher dollar folks got some bargains ... $950k was a steal for that Duesenberg town car. But I want the nifty little 6-cyl. MGC coupe!

Have to remember, they have buyers around the place to jack up the price. Just watch, that car will be on sale shortly as it was not sold to a owner, auction stooge got it. I bought many Hudson's and AMc's at auctions when I was in business and know the ropes. Walt.

Walt is sure right about that!
They have "shills" in the crowd to jack up the price.
A lot of these cars are sold as "investments". Some of those guys who buy Duesenbergs can't even spell the name, wouldn't even know the engine configuration!
Those events are more of a circus than an auction - like Walt, "been there, done that".
I ran into a guy at an auction in L. A. many years ago who I knew & said to him "I didn't know you were into old cars" to which he replied, "I'm not, I'm just one of the owners of the auction co.".

More circus than auction. Didn't B-J have an auction last year at this time that had a 63 Bonneville ambulance which they claimed carried away JFK after the assination? Some guy paid over $100K for this thing only to find out they could not prove the 'provenance' Don't know if he got any refund though. Lovely cars to look at but most of it is waaaaaay over hyped. Beware the hucksters.

    Park,
MG's are a good buy in today's market. Even local news papers have a run of them. I bought this "B" model all orininal with 40k miles and with a bit of mechanical work (changed carb and took off emissions stuff)and I am still less than 4K in it. They are a really fun toy...

I am saving my 95K to buy Steve McQueens Hornet. Gotta be special if McQueen owned it. :woohoo:
