V.I.N number break down--info where to look?

    been surfing the net,looking for info on my 49 Hudson's VIN #'s,anybody have a idea where to look now,i googled it,binged i been on ALOT of hudson sites -i don't feel comfortable posting it on the WWW.sorry but i have trust issues,:unsure:

    P.S i have it just looking for what my #'s mean..

    its really simple, I am sure much too simple for what you want. the firt two digits will be 49 the third will be 1,2,3 or 4 (e.g. 1 is Super Six, 4 is Commodore 8)indicating model and the rest is just the sequence off the line. I think Alex Burr's site will break down that sequence to the month of production, other than that there is no information within.

    The 1948-1954 Monthly Model Year production Data is on Page 98 of the General Information Handbook.

    Page 97 contains a 1948-1954 Production and Shipping Data chart which is the closest we can come to individual model break-down.

    For those of you with 1946-1947 models a monthly breakdown chart (Hudson Model Year Production Run by Serial Number and Month of Manufacture) is available on Page 92.
