Need help deciding

I bought a 2006 Mazda RX-8 GT, its pretty much fully loaded except nav and tire pressure sensor. It has its problems, like the tail light is leaking and freezes over (common problem with them), and the sunroof molding needs to be replaced. It's also kinda scuffed up on the driver side right hand side by the seat and its scuffed on the shifter.
The 2006 model fixed ALL the problems with the RX 8 mechanically, and it introduced the RENESIS engine in 2006 as well. They stopped making the car in 2011, and Mazda is giving up on rotary engines all together for at least 20 years, if not more if they go back at all.
Now, I found a newer RX-8, its a GT, its 100% perfect, I'm not sure of the year on it yet, but I'm guessing its about 2009, they all look generally the same.
So my question is, with a classic car, would I be better off sticking with the 2006 where they fixed ALL the problems and introduced a brand new engine design, or does it really matter? I know certain car years are more liked than others, I just want some input from A BUNCH of experienced older classic car owner.
I'm mid twenties, I know this is going to be a classic car, but this new car is all fixed up and ready where as my 2006 needs a few thousand of work on it. -
You probably need to post this on a Mazda enthusiasts web forum. Most people on this forum are focusing on cars that are much older. To us, a 2006 car is so new it's barely broken in!

If you will notice, this forum does not even cover the old imports like the Mazdas, Toyota, Nissan, etc.. It does not even have a section for my Fiat! (my oldest car and a classic)
Also your Mazda being a 2006 is not even old enough to drink in most states. Its got a long way to go to be considered a classic.
