    Hi

I filmed a Chevrolet Impala parked in the street here in Katoomba, Australia yesterday. I put the video on youtube. I'd just like to know which year the Impala is and if it is any sort of special model, so I can put in the proper identification on the Youtube page

    thanks

Hi, it's a 1959 4 dr hardtop, commonly called the 'flatop' here in the states. They also made a 4 dr H.T. with a normal roofline.

    Marconi,

I've never seen a '59 Impala 4 dr hardtop with a "normal" roofline. You must mean 4 dr sedan with a post - not 4 dr hardtop (no post).

Steve and J are correct. Very popular car in the States. My next door neighbor had one. First year of the infamous X frame, that used no ladder type frame, and was susceptable to some serious side impact damage. Hey guys, remember the rumors that at high speed the design of the rear fenders(wings) would cause the Chevy to "lift off".
