I need help in finding out what hood will fit a 1939 Hudson truck? Its 64 1/4'' from the v in the centre of the cowl where the hood sits to the tip of the outside grill shell.(1939 Sedan, Coupe ect. what will work?)
    Thanks in advance.

What model truck do you have? Are the headlamps in the fenders or hanging off the sides of the grill shell?

You might want to post this down in the "regular" Hudson forum. This is the Hudson "Discussions" sub-forum, where people post their rants and messages unrelated to Hudsons, so not a lot of people come here.

The 1939 parts book, on page 84, under panels (Bonnet section), lists 4 Top panel assemblies - for 90 and 98 (Hudson 112 & commercial), 91 and 92 (Pacemaker & Hudson 6), 93 and 95 (Country Club 6 and eight), and 97 (Custom Country Club eight).

It appears that your truck would be different.

You can check out the parts book at:

having restored several '39s (CC8 cp. & a BB PU) I'm sure the only hood that will fit is the one off another truck (like looking for the proverbial "needle in a haystack") or one from any 112 series car

That's pretty much what the parts book says.

What is the VIN# of your truck? There should be a metal tag riveted on the passenger side door pillar. The first two numbers will denote the Series (90, 98, 91, 92. etc. as Alex stated in an earlier post). That will determine which vehicle you need a hood from.

Almost all '39 P/U's were either Series 90 or 98.

Since the hood from my '39 112 Coupe measures 48" from the "V" at the cowl to the front edge where the Hudson crest is mounted, I suspect you have a 40's truck. The VIN will tell the story.

Please let us know what you find!
