Ran into this on one of the photo posting sites today. The text overlay was already on the photo. So, I want to know how to read the text. Is the family name Trap so the car belongs to Bett and Rattle or is the lady shown Bett and the car a rattle trap? Just curious.

Give you odds the lady is Bett and the car was named, with love, Rattle Trap - or it could be the other way round, I suppose!!!!!!!

If the Terraplane rattled, I'm sure it was due to improper maintenance and abuse. I cite as evidence of that the apparent fact that the crank hole cover has been installed upside down. Based on that alone, what are the chances these owners changed Hudsonite on the recommended schedule? None I say!!! LOL

My first thought was to yell at her to get the heck off the car before she dents it! Or bends the head light stand!

"Still out there", what is that car in your avatar?

This is a Hudson forum and the Spohn Palos is totally unrelated. For those who want further info on my car, the best writeup so far is at http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=1952_Spohn_Palos

This photo taken in early August was the first time I had actually touched the car since 1964. '47 years of searching had ended and that indeed was thrilling.

Now y'all get back to Terraplaning.

    Very interesting.

That's the biggest back up light I've ever seen.:)

    Is it aluminum bodied?

It is a full steel coachbuilt body. The backup light is interesting in that it has high and low beam (since it is a headlamp bulb) so when the guy behind is driving with his brights on, with this car you can finally fight back. LOL

    Blessed Thanksgiving all y'all.
