Classic Car?
-
I wouldn't necessarily call it a "classic car" but I recently bought a '65 Merc Monterey. Anyone here know much about older Merc's or where I could go to learn more? I wasn't able to find any Mercury interest groups on Google. Give me a shout!merc2.JPG598 x 800 - 40K

Generally, if this car's a "keeper" and you don't own a dozen other cars (of different makes) you are well advised to join a club devoted to that brand. You'll find plenty of kindred souls, and generally clubs offer services, newsletters, technical libraries and other helpful stuff. I found several clubs or internet interest groups devoted to Mercurys:

Mercury was given a counterpart to most Ford platforms. During the 2000s, Ford focused on making its cars more luxurious, meaning Mercurys were less distinctive from other Ford nameplates.During the mid-2000s, after relative stagnation, the Mercury range was targeted for major updates to attract new buyers. The full-size 2004 Montego, a clone of the Ford Five Hundred, was introduced as the replacement for the Grand Marquis while the mid-size 2005 Milan, a clone of the Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ would become the Sable replacement. The 2003 Monterey and 2005 Mariner both were introduced as badge-engineered Fords as well.Savannah Autos
