Do you have one of these ornaments for sale?

Mr. Nitin Dossa of India would like to complete his restoration of the rare 1933 Hudson phaeton by installing a nice hood ornament. These are few and far between -- a "rare bird", if you will. Would you have a spare hanging on your wall, that you'd like to part with?

what you have pictured is the "bird" hood ornament of a '32 NOT a '33 which is the Assyrian "griffin" hood ornament33H8hoodornament.JPG388 x 372 - 34K -
and as you can tell from the 2 photos they are not interchangeable either, completely different shape, size, angle of fit to radiator shell, etc.

for the '33 T8 enthusiasts, the '33 Hudson hood ornament is about 25% larger than the '33 T8

Pete, You are correct about the mascots. The first one pictured is for the 1932. I have one of those with its emblem but have not found one of the 1933's in unaltered condition. Once in awhile one shows up on eBay, buy often they have a piece sawed off somewhere. Dee

It appears that Del Fast was here on the Forum in August, looking for the same ornament for the same fellow in India! My apologies, I never put two and two together! Maybe with this additional appeal (from me) we can pry one loose for Mr. Dossa!

I do have the 31-32 Birds but I have been making them for the Essex and have been informed the Hudson are very slightly bigger 1/8-3/16" longer
It is the same 1 I have on my 31 Coupe, I am hoping to complete them over Xmas for plating as had quite a few ordered
they were cast from brass this time
cant help with the griffin though

Does anyone have a source for replica Hudson triangle emblems ? I need one for my '34 and my friend with the '33 Terraplane Windover Sports is still looking for an Essex Terraplane Six emblem for his car.

I found a 1933 Griffin for Mr. Dossa but the bottom name part was missing. He wanted to have something on the grill so he has that item I sent him but he now needs either a complete ornament or the bottom name section to add to what he has. Glad he is getting help from several members but a lot of effort is duplicated since he is difficult to communicate with and doesn't say whether he has found any items that he was looking for. He asked me about a starter and a Startix unit which I have located. Anybody else looking for the same things? I hate to commit to acquiring the items if someone else has already sold him the same items!
Thanks,
Del Fast
