Shock absorber mounting 1940
-
Hi
Quick one on front suspension. Is there a suitable replacement part for the front shock absorber mounting on a 40 sedan. The part I am looking for is the bracket that holds the bottom of the sock absorber in place. Also, any suggestions on what make of shock absorber to use?
Thanks

Parts book indicates that "anchor plate" is same from '40 through '54, so shouldn't be hard to find one. If you're in the east try Doug Wildrick in IN, if you're west try Al Saffrahn in AZ. Both are listed on the vendors page near the back of the WTN.

Also, Try Lance Walker in No.Carolina, I believe He had some.

Follow up:
I had a chat to local Volvo owners club regarding the possibility that the Volvo 164's shock mountings may fit.
To confirm - the bottom of my suspension looks like this:

Does this look correct? If so, can anybody send me a picture of what the shock mounting plate looks like please.
Thanks
