Aaron, your comment was the only one that came up for Garrett Smith's Hudson auction. I am a friend of Hudson restorer Garrett Smith and his son Bill. My fear is that his collection of Hudson parts would be wasted for scrap. He restored and sold three Hudsons. He was working on a 1954 Hudson Hornet and another 1953. He's got two engines with transmissions and two engines without. He's got hoods, trunks, front and rear quarter panels, doors, windshields, vent windows, steering columns, bumpers, radiators, lots of chrome pieces, and many boxes of parts. I hope people get these parts that want to use them. Reynolds Auction has quite a few pictures on the site you listed.

I looked over a lot of the parts and the 54 sedan a few months ago. The 54 was supposed to come out of Baltimore, MD many years ago and although I didn't look underneath it appeared to be a solid car that needs some TLC and reassembly. Smitty had a dual range hydro to replace the BW but never got to install it. I never got to see the 53 coupe except thru the pictures on the auction site. This should be a good auction. Bruce

It is close enough to me I will drive my '54 Hornet over there (weather permitting) to enhance the Hudson experience. I'd like to buy it all, but reality sets in......

Allen and I went to the big Smith Hudson auction in Clifton Springs. Mercy! More Hudson parts than I've ever seen at a National even.

Cars, 308 engines, heads, hoods, trunks, doors, chrome, etc. Frank Dluhy and Allen bought most of the chrome, so you'll see some of the stuff at Gettysburg and Hershey for sure. Unfortunately many of the motors (308) hoods, trunks, radiators, doors, bumpers and fenders were bought by the scrapper. Made me sick but can't save em all. There were probably 20 Hudson guys or wannabees there.

Stuff went cheap. Some of the NOS stuff got bid up. Missed out on a box of rings, including 2 sets of 308 for $2 because I couldn't understand where the autioneer was at. Got 3 NOS timing gears and the whole gasket board for a buck each.

Coupe went to Stevens for $3300 and the 54 went to him also for $850. Too much for the coupe and not enough for the 54 IMHO.

We had a fun day.
