I've been getting help from the Hudson community here for 15 years or more, and have never had less than a great experience, wish it were so with other makes. I recently bought a 35 Pontiac as a driver (my Commodore needs so much I don't know where to start) and thought I'd have no trouble getting advice from guys on the Pontiac site. Wow, am I disappointed. I've had a few replies to my questions, but not many. Lots of views, but no one seems to be interested in a "conversation". My point is, Hudson guys really are special. Their depth of experience and knowledge coupled with a genuine desire to help seems to be unique in the old car hobby. AACA, POCI, Classic Car Pontiac, just don't measure up. Thanks to everyone here for all of your help. I'm proud to be associated with such a great bunch.

not to pimp another site but try the H.A.M.B a couple showed me this place--thanks Don,i understand the issue with old poncho's i owed 3 1955's,a62,a64 & many more,it seems like if it's not a chevy--your on your own! if you need any tec info please drop me a line,i have around 50-75 repair manuals from the mid 70's down.the weird thing is Hudson are the invisible car in most repair books,,chuck :evil:Have you kissed a PIT BULL lately?

While I will not give opinion of other sites, I wanted to offer my biggest thank you to all of the experienced Hudsonites who have shared so much on this site. I hope to one day know my Hudson well enough to offer my own tips. Thanks again

The proof is in the pudding, so to speak. Compare the number of posts each day on the HET forum against any other make. Most don't post in a week what we post in a day.
Back 10 years ago when the HET chat page was THE place to hang out the posts were unbelievable - the place was roaring 24/7. What we posted in 24 hours was never topped by any other car chat page - or any 5, 6 or 7 (or more) combined. The other car chats never came close.
I don't remember the exact number but a daily input of 200 posts was a slow day on the HET chat page.

Joe, it's nice of you to say that. It's nice when someone takes the time to give credit where it's due. I'd like to think that the positive and helpful attitude amongst our Forum members "feeds on itself" and encourages even non-participants to want to pitch in as best they can. It might be just a gut feeling, but it seems like a much larger percentage of our "regulars" actually contribute their advice here than one might expect. Maybe it's the obscurity of Hudsons that encourages us to participate. As Hudson owners we need each other and we need all the help we can get. Folks with more popular cars have such a huge support structure available, that they really needn't lift a finger. "Somebody else will do it."
At this point I'd also like to thank Classiccar and Ted Welch for having offered us this forum (and chatroom too, though that isn't as well used as the Forum) for so many years, at no charge. -
I think the Hudson crowd is ideally situated kind of in the middle of the pack- we're not so obscure that only 3 old guys even care about the marque anymore, and we're not so common that you can restore a car by calling 1-800-Chebby, swipe your credit card, and wait for the Fed Ex guy. We've got some suppliers of parts, but few enough that most of us pretty much know who they are; We've got some gurus, but again, few enough that we know who to call about what. We've also got a good enough organization and a good enough magazine that anyone interested can figure out what's going on, and get in the group, in fairly short order.
And the Hudson guys, more than any other group (except maybe Studebaker) are tolerant of everyone's point of view- rodders, resto rodders, daily drivers, etc. I had a Packard once. Went to a couple of meets. Lets just say I was glad to get rid of it, so I wouldn't have been tempted to go to any more.
