Borg and warner r11 overdrive
-
My overdrive works properly at times and sometimes not. I am suspicious of the governor that tells the solenoid to kick on or off at the certain speeds. I drove it for a couple days where the OD was kicking on and off like it was supposed to, and now it's back to where it will free-wheel and coast when off the accelerator, but it is not kicking in the high gear. Any ideas on troubleshooting this one?

Take the rail switch, on the rear of the O.D. unit, and the governor off. Take them both apart and clean the gear lube out of them and lightly sand the contacts. Get a new seal for the governor and install it an d put it all back together, Should work!
