Power brake pedal pad wanted for 54 Special
-
Am looking for a power brake pedal pad for my 54 Special. Have tried Albright's and Paul Schuster. There must be one out there somewhere in reasonable condition.

Doug, I have been looking too. The only thing that I have come up with so far is, if we can find a 55,56,or 57 with power brakes, then these vehicles might have what we are both looking for. This is based on the fact that the 54 through 57 have the same type of Power Brake units. So they may have the same brake pedal.
I have been looking and so far no luck on this end. If you find one of the cars I indicated and it has what we are looking for please send me an e-mail. Good luck.

I think you need the same pad that was used by the Buick's that had Treadle Vac power brakes. It's available from Metro Molded Parts as #CB83. Power Brake Pedal Pad. High-quality reproduction. 3-3/4" wide X 4-7/8" long. Each $26.65

I have seen many '54 Hornets with power brakes, but I do not recall the bigger ribbed pedal cover having the words "POWER BRAKE" on them. The design for the AMC Hudsons and Nashes of 55-57 is different in its shape.

its different than either of the ones mentioned it is 4.17 x 2.7 on the outside and has about .75" corner radii. does not say power brake nor does it have the grove on the side like the metro. I think press kale (maybe it was full line) used to sell the 55-57 and said it would fit the 54, i opted for the best original i had. attached is a picture of an originalphoto_2011-09-28-2.JPG800 x 600 - 25K -
Ken, I need some clarification about the pad that you referenced. The dimensions of the metal part of the power brake pedal is 2 and 5/16 tall, or vertical as it is in the car, by 3 and 11/16 wide. It seems that the pad you referenced would be too big. ? ? ?
