    Fellows.
I am looking for some help as to what is wrong with my engine. When I got it ,it had been setting for years. It was out of a 1931 plymouth, rodster. I cleaned it up and put all rebuilt parts on it (dist.,carb, starter and gen. Put it in the car and it started right up,but does idle a little rough. When i give it some gas, it coughs and sputters. I have put new wiring, primery and secondary, have replaced the coil, points, plugs, condenser, and roter.Took the carb off and it was shooting gas ,when I pushed the accelerator pump down. checked all the setting on it,put it back on and have the same thing. I'm wondering if I have a bad valve or valves. It sounds normal when it idles. I did a compression test and all 4 cylinders carry 70 lbs. Could I still have bad valves and still have good compression??
I don't know what to do next!!!!! HELP Thanks for any help you can offer

You have decent compression, that is not the problem.
Check the fuel supply, try a 3 foot hose from a gas can directly to the fuel pump, not using the factory fuel line from the gas tank to the fuel pump. The fuel pump should suck gas from the can with no problem.
