Ruskins of Melbourne, Vic, Australia, built six. Maybe you'll get one of the other five? Patience. Of course there will be restoration costs to the others.

I just saw a pic of Eldon at Pebble Beach beside his recently acquired Railton limousine, bodied by Rippon, which is a "one off" made by that body co. as a show car. It is on the long w.b. (I can't remember what year it is)& I largely original inc. a small compartment right behind the rear window for the jack & other tools and a fold down truck with picnic basket etc.

I would guess that this is a 1937? Looks alot like the one shown below. It is known as a Sedan and not a Limo...

Brownie - as I recall it has a dividing window in the front seat making it a limo which is just a version of a sedan.
It has a map of London that pulls our from underneath the dash & is lit.
In compartments in the back of the front seat, when Ray had it, were some chocolates which has been there since the Olympia Auto Show in '37!
    A very unique "one off".

You are right. I will agree with you. The items that you mention (save it be the chocolates)that were not seen in the photo, would make it a limo. That is the way it is with those British Coachbuilt cars. Everyone is unique unto itself and their body style is such that you love them or you hate them. The photos above are some of the best looking of the Railton Sedans. Both of them would look great in my shop.

Thanks Bob - I saw it a Ray's about 10 years ago & marveled at it's originality & all those special items that are on Eldon's information board.
I'm sure glad Eldon bought it as it will be preserved & made available to be seen.
The other Railton he has, the '36 "sportsman's coupe'" was mine. During the years I had it I did some work to it, such as putting on a new top & replating the bumpers, new ring gear & pinion, etc. & as far as I can tell Eldon's done nothing further with it. I got it from Ray also who at one time had 6 Railtons, he has 1 left.
