One of the tie-rods blew out on my truck, so while I was buying parts I dropped about 80.00 and got a air powered grease gun with the heavy-duty flexible tip.

WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG? :)

It's so easy to use I started looking for more fittings to grease!

If you have s compressor and haven't gotten a air-powered grease gun..get one, worth every penny.

You're eventualy gonna be kicking yourself for not getting a battery operated one when you run out of airhose. :P

LOL - you're probably right!~ although, it would just be another excuse to pad my toolbox with a new tool.

But, I was stuck at the napa parts store, really shouldnt have even been driving the truck and had to buy what was on hand.

They had a hand operated one with flex hose for about 35.00, or the air-powered one for 57.00 with a rigid tip.

For the extra cash I figured it would be worth a shot..then I spent another 21.00 on a heavy-duty 18" flex hose - I know I could have saved money at HF..but, couldnt make the 35mi round trip.

I went out and bought one when I bought my Hudson and saw how many grease fittings there was. I bought my from Sears. I forget what I spent on it. It works great except some times its hard to get it primed.

I just bought one from Harbor Freight. It works great EXCEPT it is very hard to get on the grease fittings and harder to get off the fittings. Will this get better with use?

You may want to go to a local parts store and get a higher quality hose/fitting.

I didn't notice anything different attaching to the zirk fitting with mine, but I bought a flexible replacement hose and fitting as mine had come with a rigid setup .. also, they should be fairly snug so grease don't go shootin' all over the place ;)

Mine is the same way. On mine the tip you can unscrew and it makes it easier to to get it on and off.

I have replaced the grease coupler with one from NAPA. It works much better.

I think your idea to unscrew the tip a little also would work for me. I tried it on a fitting after removing it from service and it appears to be better. I had not thought of that. Oh well, two solutions are better than none. Thanks for your input.

Before I knew I could loosen the end of the tip up, I had such a hard time getting it off the fitting, when it would finally come off with me pulling on the hose, my hands would bang into some part of the frame and cut my knuckles up.
