Splash gaurds and rear seals

I'm ready to order canvas splash gaurds for my 50. Does anyone have the 2 pieces of formed metal straps that,I assume, help to support the canvas. I have one. Does anyone have pics or a description of how they're mounted? Is this something I really need to have in place? I have all the rubber gaurds in place.
Are there current part numbers for pinion, inner and outer seal numbers for the rear diff?
