    I need to replace the coil on my 54 262 engine..

    Does anyone have a replacement number and possibly where I can get a
    6v Coil for my car?

    From the information I have the original coil number is CA-6012A and fits 1950-1954 all Hudson. There is a NAPA generic coil, but I don't have that number to hand.

    Last time I bought a 6 volt positive coil was from NAPA. Number C-7. I assume they still sell them.

    A generic 6 volt replacement coil will work fine, just make sure the pos. terminal goes to the distributor and the neg. goes to the ign. switch.

    Or you can buy a 12 volt coil that is specified for use with an external ballast resistor. These work just fine on 6 volts, without the resistor of course.
    If you're stuck in a hole, stop digging.
