1939 Country Club Eight, $4500, Hanover, Pa.
-
This is from Craigslist. I'll reprint it rather than give a link to Craigslist (which will cease to work eventually).
For Sale: 1939 Hudson Country Club 8 four door sedan. This Hudson is pretty much all original with the exception of one quick repaint with flat black primer to protect it and make it presentable. The white trim rings on the wheels are also not original, the original chrome trim rings are included with the car and are in good shape. The car still has the original 254 c.i. flat head straight eight engine with three speed transmission. The car has very minimal rust for its age, and has been garaged most of the past 44 years. The interior is all there with the exception of the radio. The upholstery is showing its age and needs to be re done. All the glass is good in the car. The chrome and stainless trim is all there and in pretty good shape. The bumpers need a little work and re chromed to be nice. This Hudson has been in the same family for the past 44 years. The last time the car was running and driving was in the early 1980's. The car is not presentlly running, I did sit a battery in it and it cranks over ok, that is as far as I went. The entire fuel system will need cleaning, and most likely the carburetor and fuel pump rebuilt to get it running again, because it has been parked for so long. The Hudson has a clear PA title and is already registered as an antique and has the PA antique tag and registration card, I think the antique tag can be transferred with the car. The Hudson is in need of a restoration or would be an interesting Rat rod / Street rod project. $ 4,500 or best offer Please feel free to call 717-637-6144 for more details on the Hudson or to set up a time to come and take a look at it. Thank You.

Same, I hope someone snags it and puts a nice shiny proper paint job on it.

Wish that was closer to me. I would love that car. I would change out the hump trunk lid for the smooth one I like that better. Paint this a nice Hudson colour get some new wide white walls on it and redo the interior. Then drive it all summer. Sigh ....dreams of Hudsons...:huh:www.hudsonmotorcar.org

Very nice, and also tempting - Too bad I don't have the space for it - plus I've got too many project already...
Hey Kevin - You sure you wouldn't want another '39? -
Not only is that car a County Club 8, it is a Custom model. Notice the coupe type front doors. A very rare car indeed.Arkie

About had a heart attack when I saw this car! If I would have gone to look at it I would have bought it. Passed up a chance to buy a Model 95 back in 2003. I've long regretted that.
Don't know if this is a Model 95 or 97. As ArkieJazz said it has the coupe front doors. Perhaps someone who has owned one or knows about these cars (hint hint: Pete) will chime in and tell us.
BTW This car came up for sale in June. I couldn't find it in Craigslist.
Somebody got a great deal!

Kevin - If you're serious, you could always call and inquire. If available and you go up to look, I could go with you - as long as it was a weekend, or I get a few days notice...Kevin C. wrote:46HudsonPU wrote:Hey Kevin - You sure you wouldn't want another '39?

I phoned but could not get a reply, 'service unavailable' and the ad seems to have disappeared from Craigslist for the moment. Anyone have any more info on this car or the sellers?
