-

Sorry if my english sucks. I'm danish -
If you are planning a body off restoration then something like that needs to be taken with a lot of thought. An ample area to work in, many photos as the project progresses, assembly manuals if possible so you know what goes where, and of course all the proper tools.
Depending on your plan, I never think of something like this as stupid. I have been to a few shows that people have done this very thing and come up with a beautiful car.
I don't know the condition of your vehicle but a lot of attention needs to be taken towards the rust issues if there are any. Bracing may be needed to keep the body from flexing once the body and frame are separated.
If you plan on doing all the work yourself, do you have things like a welder? Appropriate lifting devices to get the body in the air?
You can never plan enough for the journey. Making lists of things that need to be done, bags to hold components that are taken off the car and marked so you will know where they go back (along with the pictures of how they were on there).
Have you looked on the internet for clubs that are specific to your vehicle? What are the parts availability? What type of budget are you on?
And most of all, are you willing to go the distance to complete the endeavor? It's easy to get frustrated and ready to call it quits. Then you have lost a lot of time and money that you will never get back.
