Valve adjustment?

Hello I was wondering how to do a valve adjustment on a Hudson 262. I'm a diesel mechanic in training and when doing a 6cyl normally on tdc 1 you adjust 1 int/exh 2int 3exh 4int 5exh then turn engine over to tdc 6 and adjust 2exh 3int 4exh 5int 6int/exh. Can I use this method? Also I was looking through the forum and found the post but can someone post the valve arrangement please thanks. I'm adjusting them cold as the head is off due to a bent valve.

Just put a 1/2 open end wrench on the lifter and turn the adjusting screw also with a 1/2 inch open end wrench. They are a self locking set up. Walt.

Thanks for the input. That's cool how they are self locking! Is that like an oil pressure thing or just "Fm" lol. Any one else on the adjustment? I do this adjustment everyday on big rig diesels. That's how I was taught with some exceptions but most straight 6 cylinder diesels are this way. Same firing order. Pretty much the same everything.

At the top of the page is a link to Other Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Literature - click on that and then on Hudson Technical Bulletins. Vol 1. The one you want is TS 78-3 (the document is searchable, so simply put TS 78-3 in the search box and it will take you to the document.
These technical bulletins (Vol. 1) were included as a center fold in the WTN back in the 1970's and early 80's. The other volumes (2, 3, 4) are ones I made up using Art Adams format. Lot of good info in there.

Use the Adobe print button to make your copy once you have the psdf document you want on your screen. The button showing a printer will print out of your default printer or on the top line, the "file" tab will enable you to copy & save an electronic copy.

Thanks for you help. There are a couple of things I do not know. Where is the Adobe print button? I do not see it on my key board. Also, what is psdf? Is the button next to the right Ctrl button, the printer button? There is a picture on it but can't tell if it is a printer.
When I tried to highlight the bulletin I want to print, it would not highlight. If I were to just print it without highlighting, it would start printings all the bulletins.
I just do not know how to print a particular item that I can not highlight.
There is a bulletin showing Cliffords method of adjusting valves, I wanted to make a copy of, without copying all the other bulletins.

Assuming you are using a Windows system (I know 0.00 about Apple/Mac's) the most left hand button on the line above the document is the "print" button. You can choose which pages you wih to print in the "print" box that will show as soon as you click on the "print button.
The "print" button I mean show on the screen , not on your keyboard.

I hit Ctrl+P, then checked the Current Page box, then clicked on Ok and it printed out just fine.
Since I have a printed page if all else fails I could scan it and send you a copy via email.

If head is off, then turn engine while watching #1 cylinder and when intake closes and piston comes to the top, you are #1, ready to adjust the valves, then slowly turn engine till #5 comes to the top, then adjust the valve and then go #3-6-2-4. Set valves cold at intake 0.014 and exhaust, 0.017. Valve arrangement is front to rear, exh-int-exh-int-int-exh-exh-int-int-exh-int-exh. Best way to set valves, and use new feeler gauges, not ones that were used to adjust while engine is running, as they are pounded out. Walt.
