Good wiring harness links?
-
I rewired my dad's 56 4door chevy and he almost killed me because he thought i wouldn't be able to get it back together. I did it with wiring diagrams i downloaded but its a...mediocre job. Runs great but looks like crap. Yeah he's proud of me but if he saw the mess underneath the dash he would be pissed. Can anybody post me some good links for complete wiring harnesses? Thanks

Try Y 'n Zs in Redlands, Ca. 909-798-1498. Ask for Gene, Brian, or Bonnie. They produce a great product, looks as original. They let the wires run a few inches long and give you a bag with all the terminals etc in it. That way, when you lay the loom in the car, you cut the wires to length and install the terminals yourself so there's no wires streched or looped around because they're too short/ long! I've installed many of their harnesses over the years and have always been very satisfied with the quality and workmanship.

Longer wires on the harness, what a neat idea! Unlike painless (should be PainInTheA**). Last one of theirs I used on a Chevy 350 TBI as you plugged in the sensors and such the harness kept getting short and some did not reach well, it was stupid!
You could also try www.ronfrancis.com
I got one of their catalogs years ago at a street machine show. They had the terminals and plugs for early head light switches and gauges and what nots. They also had switches and stuff. They looked to have enough stuff to make a harness for just about any early American car. They aslo have harness' as well.
