Orphan-Friendly Show @ Oakfield, WI 13 Aug 2011
-
Hi Everyone,
I'd like to extend an invitation to all Hudson-Essex-Terraplane owners to our 2nd Annual Car Show in Oakfield, Wisconsin on August 13, 2011. It is open to all vintage cars, trucks, tractors and motorcycles. We have 19 classes (2 trophies in each class), including an Orphan/Independent class! We also have trophies for Club Participation and Best of Show. Last year's Best of Show was a 1952 Kaiser Virginian Traveler, and I took a trophy with my 1954 Kaiser Manhattan.
I am encouraging all orphan/independent car owners to attend, especially all Hudson (and Essex and Terraplane) owners who would like to take a nice day trip to Southeastern Wisconsin. Step-down Hudsons, especially Hornets, are among my favorite cars, and they are getting fewer and fewer each year in Wisconsin. I am actually seeing more Kaiser-Frazer products than Hudsons, even at the big Iola Car Show. I sincerely hope we can reverse that trend!
There will be food and beverages (including hot coffee!) and a DJ on site. There will also be live entertainment by Nicole Kottke, a young up-and-coming country singer who is a 2011 graduate of Oakfield High School. She also has released a professional CD album through a local studio.
