My freind of mine said that gases got trapped in the steel when it was chromed and has caused its failure

    thanks

Yeah, If it's not in the Mcmaster-Carr catalog, it ain't made. But check around for Piano Hinges You may be able to find them locally. Some hardware store may carry them. If You have a Home Depot, or Lowe's they both carry them. (don't know if the length you need is available)

You won't have a hard time finding that hinge. They have them in the local hardware stores here. In brass, steel, and stainless, even aluminum. The hard ones to find are the hinges that are NOT segmented. ...Ask me how I know.:)

If anyone out there knows where to get that type, please tell.

thanks Guys, it looks to me the off set type is the right 1 (high shoulder at the top)with the 2" segments and 2" wide 1/4" shaft, the problem is its there and I am down under here
a 3' length would be perfect
would just have to have it brake pressed to fold it to 90 degs down
and drill the holes for the bolts

Mike, PM me the details and I'll get it headed this way then on to you.
I take it they don't do international shipping. Jeff Lynn
