torque
-
When torquing down a 308 iron head, Pretty sure it has the original bolts, 1/2"?,
what are the numbers. I'm not an engine man so please help me out here.
thanx, Dave -
Make sure what size bolts you have. 7/16 torques to 65 foot pounds using 3 steps. 1/2 inch bolts torque 90 to 95 foot pounds. Do this in 5 steps, and don't guess what size you have for if you try to toque 90, you will pull a 7/16 right out of the block or break it and then you have a job. My tach tip books have the correct way to torque. Walt.
