Terraplane Leather/Porcelain Key Ring
-
Does anyone still have one of the leather key rings with a porcelain Terraplane badge on it that the HET Club store used to sell a few years back ? The Store doesn't list them anymore.
My friend who has just bought the 1933 Terraplane Six has drawn a blank trying to find a radiator grille emblem (see my earlier post)and all I can think of is using the badge from one of these key rings.
If you got one you don't want, please could you let me know ?
I'm trying to enlist my friend for the Club telling him how friendly and helpful everyone is. -
Thanks Trevor. Let's hope your friend has a suitable one.
The car has had a full frame up professional restoration, so it's a shame that the grille badge is missing.
If anyone has an "Essex Motors" leather/porcelain key ring, that would do just as well as a Terraplane one. -

Yes, my car did come from the "Norris L Smith Collection".
What a character that guy was ! I miss the long newsy letters he regularly used to send me.
He told me that he believed that it was the only surviving 1934 Hudson LTS Brougham and it's certainly a rare car. Jim Digiorgio's list of 1934 Hudsons has only 4 Broughams of any series and I believe my car is the only 1934 Brougham this side of the Atlantic.
(Having posted this, I guess someone out there is going to prove me wrong !) -
My friend's car has the griffin mascot. He wouldn't have such a difficult task to find one if that was missing rather than the porcelain badge.
Isn't that always the way ? We call it "The Law of Sod" in England ! -
Hi there.
Trevor from NewZealand.
I have had a reply from my friend who restores the enamel badges. He has a Terraplane badge and I assume that this is the correct one. It is an oval badge white and curved in both directions. Has the word Terraplane in the centre with USA below.
Let me know and if interested I can put you in contact.
Regards Trevor -
Thanks, Trevor. If you or your friend can email me a pic of his badge, I'll pass it on to my friend with the Essex for him to make contact direct.
My email is -

If you've got another 34 Hudson 2-door, I'd like to see some pics of that too, please. -
Hi there.
His name is Kevin Casey.
His E mail is caseyleadlights@xtra.co.nz Sorry I mis read the previous posts. I do have a 34 eight but it is a four door and a kitset but complete with very little rust. I have had it in my shed for many years. It would be a great project for someone.
Regards Trevor -
Thanks Trevor.
I wonder if my car is in fact the last surviving 1934 Hudson LTS Series 2-door Brougham ?
