KARMA
-
Personally I don't believe in the far eastern religions or their idea of "karma" in any way shape or fashion because I am a Christian. The use of "karma" as some sort of adjective by Classic Car. com, I realize is playing on modern vernacular but to me it is repulsive. Other forums are far more creative than using the silly word "karma". Am I clear? Using the term is bad karma, which is not the street term I would prefer to apply.
-
Karma?? Wasn't that a car that was built by Volkswagen???

Personally I'd remove the Karma all together. It has litle to no meaning except to piss someone off if its negative - as seen above and on alot of other posts regarding a -1 or -2 or worse Karma.
Just remove it!
Jack -
Cost me one! Typical!
-
Karma Chamaleon, a song by Boy George, and about as relevant here as the forum's Karma.
Karma is probably just dandy for a forum targeted at 12 and 13 year olds but not really suited for a forum full of grumpy old Hudson owners. Or maybe I just need another coffee.

I did not like "Karma". Then I started to notice the people that had negative marks and the people that had possitive marks. Now I look at "Karma" a new way. A way to see how others here on the forum see us. If you are around zero you are more than likely respectful and contributing to the forum. If your number is up you are more than likely contributing more then the average person. If your number is down, you might want to consider how you are treating others? Are you sharing your knowledge? Or making others feel bad in some way?
I don't really care what my "Karma" is. But if it was in the negatives I would question myself. Am I being respectful to others? -
Its a simple case of "value added"
This Karma does NOT in any way add value to the information exchanged. In reality, a negative or rating reduction will more than likely keep someone from posting as they may very likely take it as a "slap" and for what and by whom?
I've seen this Karma thing oscillate just for the type of question asked. If the question draws a derating or negative, this can easily be taken as a "dumb question" penality. We all want new owners and prospective owners, correct? So if a new Hudsonites joins, they can easily be put off by negative Karma ticks - why risk this. There should be absolutely NO "rating" button. If we're going to chastize someone let the words be written by an author signed in. We've seen this in the KGAP saga - no need for the Karma flag.
I highly recommend that this Karma be removed as soon as possible.

So this Karma c r a p is purely subjectively applied to us BY WHOM? I'm a Texan, I own guns, I ain't happy. And my opinion in America is protected by the First Amendment.
-
Your opinion might be protected but your Karma is -4 - definately not bullet proof!
Hurry DUCK! DODGE!! HIDE!! Like Moe Larry and Curly!! -
Since the Karma rating is raised or lowered by the users of the forum I too would worry if I had a negative number. Since I never pay any attention to mine, it would not bother me in the least if it were eliminated. If it is going to cause dissention amongst the forum members I would prefer it to be omitted.
