58 T-bird
-
I'm looking at a58 T-Bird convertible that is for sale. He is asking 6K but his brother says that is just a starting point.
The florrs are solid, eveything is there, the interior is perfect as is the carpet and door panels. The car has sat for two years now but they say everything was working at that time. I do not know what the top loks like.
The one bad spot, that you can see is the left rocker. It appears like it may have been patched at some time and is now coming apart. Unless this is the way these rockers where put together (see pics). The car looks original. It needs a lot of cleaning but the chrome is all there and not bad.
What do you think?

Can't really tell about the left rocker panel, but the car appears to be a 1960 model, the grille is 60 and the interior plastic is white, 59 & 60, 58s had black plastic inside and the grille was a stamped or die cast mesh for lack of a better term, in fact the grille design was very similar to 58 Ford passenger cars. If you can get the drivers door open, there's a 'warranty plate' with the serial number and lots of other info coded on it, the first digit is the last digit of the year, 8 for 1958, 9 for 1959, and 0 for 1960. Also the engine should be a medium blue color in 58. Hope this helps you out.

You're right, it is a 60.
I have been looking at so many cars lately, I was looking at a picture of a 58 while typing this.
Thanks for pointing that out.
