anyone have a 1930 essex marvel carb?
-
Hello everyone, I am a proud owner of a 1930 Essex super six 4 door challenger. I joined the HET club and the Hudson club to learn more about the car and where to find parts for it.I need a carb for this car more than anything....I was wondering if anyone has one they would part with, knows someone that will,or if someone has a complete rebuild kit with a cork float? I think that is the main problem with my carb as the float seems to be falling apart. Thanks to all your friend John please feel free to e-mail me jjester22@yahoo.com or badasschevy92@yahoo.com

Thinking this is the float your looking for...
Marvel Float
I also saw a 29 Essex sedan in a junkyard outside Kingman,AZ on my way to Las Vegas
last month. AFAIK,the 29 carb is smaller than the 30 but the car was fairly
complete... -
For information on your car check out the online library @

The club also has a virtual library in the custody of John O'Halloran - contact info is in the WTN.

1930 Essex used a VE-3-10-778 carby; the 733 is 1929.

I just might have. I bought this carb for the 29 and they look so close. Come to find the throat to manifold bypass tube is further fromthe mount hole compared to the 733.
The one I have is a completely clean and rebuild one and is immaculate. Never seen the outside of its box for more than an 30 inutes as I found it didn't fit.
Let me revisit the carb and get a few pics for you.
