3 ways to rev up your next car show
-
Hi, Folks.
My name is Todd Ruel, and I run a web site devoted to orphan cars. It's called Gone Autos. (www.goneautos.com)
Even though I love orphan cars, I've always been interested in making the car show experience better. I've always felt that we need to be good salesmen as well as good DIY mechanics if we ever hope to grow and preserve the hobby.
So this morning, I just published a blog article about how to make our car shows more fun and more interesting to general visitors and passersby. Check it out here: http://www.goneautos.com/Blog/files/3_Ways_Rev_Up-Next_Car_Show.html. And please leave some comments with your own suggestions. I wrote the article as a conversation starter. I'd love to hear your suggestions. I'm sure they're way better/faster/easier/cheaper than mine.
I'm also producing podcasts for orphan car fans. I published the first Gone Autos podcast last week. It's an interview with Aaron Severson of the auto history web site Ate Up With Motor (www.ateupwithmotor.com). It's free, and I think you'll really like it! Check it out! (You can also subscribe to the Gone Autos Podcast channel on iTunes. If you do, please leave us a review. Feedback=good!)
Last thing: the classic car hobby needs a sense of humor. Check out our novelty t's on the Gone Autos T-Shirt site. You might appreciate the harmless absurdity of "Studebacon" or the inside joke of "Nash is for Lovers." Look for it here: http://www.goneautos.com/T-Shirts/t-shirts.html
Enjoy it! Lots to love. Nothing to buy (unless you wanna).
