40s truck differences ?
-
I'm looking at another truck project, it has a 46/47 grill, but the title lists it as a 1940. I have not seen it in person and the car is not stored on the owners property for him to confirm the VIN.
What things can I look for to identify the year?
My 47 has fender spears and this does not, but the limited pictures I have don't show anything else that stands out to me.
Thanks,
Matt -
All '46 & '47 pickups came from the factory without any fender trim. A 1940 pickup dash board will have insterment clusters that come to a point at the outer edges just like the 1940 passenger cars. Insterment clusters on the 1941's were similar to the '42 thru '47 except they were only about 2/3 as high.
