Thank you, Hudson family
-
As most of you know Memphis has been slowly sinking into the Mississippi River for the past week or so. We are fortunate to live on high ground so I was not alarmed this morning to find that the tide had come to about 4/10ths of a mile from me. About the same distance north of us there is a trailer park that is fully underwater, so our thoughts and prayers go out to those folks. And U S 51 a 1/2 mile north of us is closed for the moment, along with a lot of minor streets (unless you live on said street) are underwater and closed.
Todays news from Memphis brought word that the river is expected to crest, at about 48.5 feet (flood stage is 33 feet, so you can see it's major) sometime tonight or early tomorrow morning and we should see the waters start to recede shortly thereafter.
I have, over the past few days, received several emails and a phone call from folks in the Hudson club checking up on me to see if we're ok. I can't tell you how much those communications were appreciated. I thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart. Just goes to emphizise what I've always said about HET - it is truly a family affair. Thank you again.
Hudsonly,

Good to hear that you are on high ground Alex. I heard on the radio today that the water was still rising in the Memphis area, and immediately thought about you.

Alex, Great to hear You are alright! Just keep an eye out for signs of creeping waters. I don't want you to have to tread water!!
