8 Volt battery
-
Installed an 8 volt battery in my 54 HH. When you first start driving the amp light flashes and you can hear the volt regulator ticking but after a short while the light go's out and no more ticking is thier a way to adjust the voltage meter and solve this problem.

Sorry to tell you, but your 8 volt battery will revert to 6 volts, as the generator is set to 7-1/4 volts, and the battery will drop down to this voltage and stay there unless you have a charger that will go to 9.5 volts. You could re-set your regulator to this, but you are likely to cook things if you do. The light is staying on until the battery and generator voltage equalize. If you're stuck in a hole, stop digging.
