I'm baaaaaaaaack
-
I finally found out how to get my non-computer files organized - all it takes is a virus and a computer in the repair shop for a couple weeks. No distraction. I managed to winnow the files down, eliminating duplicate printings, non-essential stuff and other bits and pieces.
So you can imagine I was loaded and ready to get back to business on the computer when I brought the little darling home from hospital Tuesday morning around 11am - spent most of the afternoon catching up on e-mails (library kept me on-line so emails were to bad) and other correspondence.
In the meantime very severe weather swept thru Memphis - it had been raining off and on since Sunday with several sessions of thunder cells, in some areas with tornadoes but not here. We seem to be in a "no tornado zone" - pretty much north and south of us gets it. 6:39 that afternoon the lights went out!!!! And stayed out until 11:15 this morning. Still couldn't get online because the internet provider was hanging wires to get everybody back online again. They succeeded admirably, getting us back online around 6.
So I am back and ready to agitate. At least until the next round of heavy weather that knocks us off the power grid. We are lucky - there's still around 10,000 to 12,000 customers still no power. Some won't be back on until Saturday. At least it's better here than in New England - storms tend to hang for several days. Here they come roaring thru and keep going.
'tis the season. Y'all take care now - hear.
