OD Govenor Repair

Is is possible for a DIYer to repair the govenor?
I need to have new wire connector tabs added as mine are completly gone thus the OD does not work. -
You should be able to, all the governor is is a grounding switch. Take the cover off and look at it, it should be self explanatory what you need to do. Also if it's full of trans lube replace the seal and wash it out with brake cleaner, sandpaper the contacts lightly.

Thank you. This is good to know. That will be the next "big" project for me - after reinstalling the gas tank and getting the carb reset to a more optimal mixture.
